The objectives of GLHSC are to promote the interest in the collection, study and dissemination of knowledge of world-wide philatelic material that depicts:

• Noteable men & women and their contributions to society for whom historical evidence exists of homosexual or bisexual orientation.
• Mythology, historical events and ideas significant in the history of gay culture.
• Flora and fauna scientifically proven to having prominent homosexual behaviour, and
• Even though emphasis is placed on the above aspects of stamp collecting, GLHSC strongly encourages other philatelic endeavors.

GLHSC is a philatelic organization with members that collect glbt on stamps or who are glbt that happen to collect stamps.

Canada issued stamps honoring four Canadian actors and actresses.  Raymond Burr is one of those featured.  Australia issued stamps of all gold medallists at the Beijing Olympics.  Matthew Mitcham, an out diver, won the gold medal in the men's 10m platform diving competition.
